Nigeria/Botswana Friendly: Keshi to join Super Eagles today

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi could not travel to Benin with the squad yesterday as he stayed behind in Abuja for his contract signing ceremony with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday.
There is only one scheduled daily flight from Abuja to Benin, and the unveiling of the coach, planned to start at 12 noon and last 90 minutes, is not expected to finish on time for him to make that flight.
The rest of the squad leave without the coach.
There was no training in Benin  yesterday, but regular sessions will start again today.
Kickoff time for Saturday’s match up against Botswana is 5pm.

  2. The 'Big Boss', welcome on board. I must tell you, you have to be very careful not with the players but with the NFF. Your success or otherwise depend on that body. You can only succeed if you use a long spoon each time you dine with the FA officials. They plotted Siasia's downfall so they can extend same to you if you fail to do their bidding. You have mentioned 'wing play' as your operating strategy, fine but remember it is no longer in vogue world wide. Your ability to use it to the nation's advantage at any major competition would make you a new hero as nations will shift back to the system. That means you will have to find players like Amunikes and Finidis to prosecute this style of play. You have our support just like Siaisia did but you will lose that support if you fail. You have a big task in changing players' attitude on the field of play. Good luck
